UESTC has extensive international academic exchanges. Currently, the university has signed agreements on academic cooperation and exchanges with more than 20 universities abroad. In 2006, over 1000 foreign visitors, including university presidents, government officials and CEOs of large companies, visited UESTC; over 210 oversea scholars and experts were invited to the university to give lecture or participate in joint research projects.

In the past five years, the number of faculty members sent abroad to give lecture, study or attend conferences has amounted to 1300. Also, the university has engaged in co-training students of various types with well-known foreign universities. It constantly adds to the international reputation of the university.
